Monthly Meeting Info

This presentation provides an overview of Roxtec’s modular cable and pipe sealing solutions for data centers, focusing on how proper sealing reduces risk, prevents unplanned downtime, and protects critical infrastructure. It highlights common causes of failures—such as fire, water ingress, rodents, dust, and EMI—and compares traditional sealing methods to engineered, multi-hazard Roxtec solutions. The presentation also covers certified performance ratings, typical data center applications, and how Roxtec supports projects from design through installation and lifecycle maintenance.

President's Report

Dear CSI Mississippi Members,
May is packed with opportunities to connect, learn, and have a great time together. Whether you’re in the mood for a good meal, a good game, or a good conversation, we’ve lined up something for everyone this month.
May 6 – CSI Lunch Meeting at The Manship (11:30 AM)
We’re kicking off the month with our May Lunch Meeting at The Manship in Jackson. This is always a fantastic chance to network, catch up with colleagues, and meet new faces in our industry. Bring your appetite and your business cards.
May 14 – CSI Golf Tournament
Next up, it’s time to hit the course! Our annual CSI Golf Tournament is back. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just out for the sunshine and camaraderie, you’ll fit right in. For team registration, sponsorships, or details, contact Leland Hinton at [email protected].
May 28 – Construction, Cocktails & Comradery at Scrooge’s
We’re wrapping up the month with a relaxed evening at Scrooge’s in Jackson. Think of this as an informal hangout with Phil McDade a laid‑back gathering for folks in the construction industry to unwind, swap stories, and enjoy some easy conversation. No agenda, just good vibes.
I hope you’ll join us for one, two, or all three of these events. Our chapter thrives when we show up, support one another, and have a little fun along the way.

Awards

The Mississippi Chapter has established two very special awards available to its membership. These awards can be awarded each year or not. One is the Outstanding Member of the Year Award and the other the Robert V.M. Harrison Award. Qualifications are as follows.
Outstanding Member of the Year Award: This award will be given to a member who has rendered outstanding and exceptional service and devotion in behalf of the Mississippi Chapter in any given year. Any member in good standing is eligible for this award.
Robert V.M. Harrison Award: This award shall be considered as the highest recognition that can be given by the Mississippi Chapter CSI. This award may be presented to any Chapter member in good standing who has maintained continuous membership in the Mississippi Chapter and has continuously served the Chapter for over 20 years. The recipient shall have evidenced their dedication and devotion to the Chapter and shall have portrayed exceptional and meritorious service to the Chapter by serving in numerous positions on the board and as a committee chair. The recipient shall be a member who has a proven record of service, has distinguished themselves as a servant of the Chapter, has influenced and mentored other Chapter members, and has brought acknowledgment and accolades to the Mississippi Chapter though their Region and/or Institute service. This award may only be received once by any Chapter member.
If you have someone you would like to nominate for either of these awards, please send your nominations to Lacie Gibson ([email protected]) by May 8th to be voted on by the Board.
Also, if you know someone who deserves special recognition for their specific efforts this year, please send your suggestions to Lacie Gibson as well.
Golf Tournament

The 23rd annual Mississippi CSI Spring Golf Tournament is fast approaching. This tournament is always a great time, and we fully expect participation from CSI members and guests alike. The tournament will be held at The Country Club of Canton on May 14th. Let’s give a big shout-out to the folks at Sherwin-Williams because, for the 10th consecutive year, they have generously agreed to sponsor the post-tournament Crawfish Boil! The golf tournament committee members are working to ensure that this will be a fun and successful event for our chapter members, prospective members, and anyone else in the construction industry.
If you have played before, please sign up and continue to enjoy this great outing. If you have never played, this is a great opportunity to take your participation in the Mississippi CSI chapter to the next level. If you are already committed to play this year, please help us in recruiting more teams for this great event! Even if you aren’t able to make the tournament, there are still great ways for your company to be involved, as we are actively seeking Food and Beverage sponsorship and Hole Sponsorships for those willing and able to do so.
I encourage anyone reading this to do your part to help us make the 23rd Annual Mississippi CSI Spring Golf Tournament even bigger, better, and more fun than last year! Should you have any questions at all or just need a registration form, please feel free to contact me by phone or e-mail. I look forward to seeing you May 14th!
